The Skincare Company has developed this light serum based Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) formula to strengthen and rejuvenate the skin against a broad range of conditions. Niacinamide has been shown to help normalise sebum/oil production and is therefore effective in helping to treat acne.
As niacinamide helps to strengthen the outer layer of the skin it can be very effective when treating pigmentation while hydrating and nourishing the skin. It has been shown to help the skin from losing water content thus improving skin hydration of the dermis and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps decrease skin discolouration, redness and sallowness. Ideal for all skin types, it should be used in the morning but can be used in the evening as well.
Topical use of Niacinamide works to inhibit melanin production
Normalises sebum production helping to treat acne
Anti-inflammatory properties assist with skin healing
Decreases epidermal discolorations, redness and sallowness
Strengthening – Increases the biosynthesis of stratum corneum lipids including ceramide, decreasing TEWL and improving skin barrier function
INGREDIENT BENEFITS
Niacinamide (5.5%)reduces inflammation, hyperpigmentation, brightens and smooths overall skin texture. Promotes keratin protein that maintains skin health, restores cellular energy and repairs damaged DNA, stimulates synthesis of ceramides which strengthen the skin barrier
MSM (Methylsulfonylmethame)boosts collagen production, reduces inflammation and soothes skin, promotes wound healing and evens our skin texture by strengthening keratin
Hydroxytyrosol enhances skin's ability to retain moisture, leading to greater hydration levels to improve elasticity and suppleness, resulting in reduced appearance of fine line and wrinkles
Salicylic Acid 0.2 %is derived from willow bark. It is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, helps in treating acne and soothing sensitive skin. Most popular BHA known for its acne-fighting and dead-skin sloughing abilities
Olive Leaf Extractis wound healing, protects against sun damage and reduces hyperpigmentation
Witch Hazel helps control oil production, soothes the skin and acts as an astringent to tighten the skin, shrink pores and remove access oil.
HOW TO USE - AM & PM
Cleanse face with selected cleanser - pat dry
Apply 1 pump of the Vitamin B3 Serum on to face withpatting andsweeping motions ensuring even distribution
Allow Vitamin B3 Serum to penetrate
In the morning, can layer with 1 pump of Vitamin C Serum or Multi-Action Peptide Serum or Hyaluronic B5 Serum or Hydration Booster, finalise withselected moisturser and SPF 50+
In the evening, can layer with 1 pump of Vitamin A or Exfoliant Serum or Hydration Booster, finalise with selected moisturiser
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Niacinamide greater than 4% - primarily used for controlling sebum production
B3 also assists with hyperpigmentation by inhibiting melanogenesis, (reduces pigment production and the subsequent transfer of melanin into epidermal basal cells)
Increases the production of one of the most important lipids-ceramide-which strengthens skin.
Improves skin tone
Stimulates new fibroblasts activity
Slows collagen breakdown
Reduces trans-epidermal water loss
Vitamin B3 moderates the DNA repair enzyme PARP-7 which is part of an intricate and complex metabolic system that regulates the transcription of signalling molecules that control and inhibit the production of sebum and melanin therefore also assisting to manage pigmentation.
Niacinamide works to signal the suppression of many inflammatory, microbial and pigment producing mechanisms. This happens at an intricate cellular level
Niacinamide increases the biosynthesis of ceramides in human keratinocytes in vitro and improves the epidermal permeability barrier in vivo.
The application of 2% topical nicotinamide for 2 and 4 weeks has been found to be effective in lowering the sebum excretion rate in study participants.
Nicotinamide has been shown to prevent Propionibacterium acnes-induced activation of toll-like receptor (TLR)-2 which ultimately results in the down-regulation of pro-inflammatory Interleukin-8 (IL-8) production.
